About Alberta

Alberta is the most populous prairie province in Canada, with a population of more than 4.1 million. It is about twice the size of Japan and has some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes. The Rocky Mountains rise up along the western edge of the province, with massive icefields that supply water to a large portion of Canada. Southern Alberta is grassland, northern Alberta is dominated by the Boreal forest, and the far northeast portion of Alberta is part of the vast Canadian Shield.
